Childcare Service

St. Andrew's Resource Centre's Childcare centre has been a successful and important part of the services offered by St. Andrews since 1986. The state of the art, purpose built facility was constructed in 1999 thanks to funding provided by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs and Area Development Management. The Childcare centre has 46 children in its care. The Childcare centre employs a manager, support manager, 9 part-time staff and 11 assistants.
The Childcare centre offers a safe friendly environment, focusing on the holistic development of the child. We provide opportunities to enhance their imagination using creative play. Focus is also placed on developing the child's skills from an early age and strengthening their independence and confidence. We are currently implementing the Aistear/Siolta curriculum. Aspects of Montessori are introduced to the children when they move into room 2.
Topic related trips are organised throughout the year. Special events are organised for Christmas, Halloween etc.
The Childcare centre is open from 8.30-5.45 and caters for children aged 1-10 years. Services include the "wobblers" who are our youngest group right up to our "after -school" group. Children can attend our morning or afternoon group or full-time.
