Jobs Initiative (JI)
The focus of the Jobs Initiative Programme is to regenerate both urban and rural communities by providing urgently needed local services, employment opportunities and experience for people who have been distanced from the labour market.
In 2010 St. Andrew's Resource Centre employed 27 people under this programme. These workers are central to the continuation and development of valuable services in St. Andrew's, to the benefit of the local community. Specific training programmes are offered to those participating on JI, many of whom had been removed from the workforce for many years. The Jobs Initiative Programme offers a most welcome return to the workforce and opportunities to develop new skills relevant to the changing working environment.
